Colour Me In: Yellow - Steps into Creating Sunset Gradient Nails

Happy Thursday my loves!

I woke up looking like this but was all like whatevs and went out anyway.
Thursday again and the colour we're bringing to you is yellow!
I was absolutely lost in deciding what beauty product to do.... The only thing I had was eyeshadow or nails. My big sister was 100% correct when she said that yellow does not go with our Asian complexion... Oh well.

Each week, Tez, Manda, Trammie and myself will be bringing you a new shade and a post with products from our collection featuring that shade!

Yelloooow! *excuse to post a picture of me in a yellow cardigan.
Sporting Rimmel's #20 by the way, don't you love it? I do!

So the nail polishes I'll be using to create this shmancy look are Ulta3's Watermelon and Honolulu

Starting off with bare nails of course! (I did a horrible job at washing it off from my previous mani)

 Dip!

 Two layers will do.

Get a sponge, any sponge will do. I've even tried a sponge from snipping it from one of my dish washing sponges (there was a square of the corner missing. No questions were asked.)
The sponge I'm using is a foundation sponge.

Sponge 2/3rds of the way down

Load it up again and sponge a bit less. With each layer, you will splotch on less and less going downwards.

Third layer! See how it's blending in!

 Fourth layer!
I was pretty satisfied with it so I swiped yellow nail polish across the tip to make a solid colour at the tips!

And my secret weapon to make everything look that teensy bit nicer, one layer of NYX in French

 Taaa daaa!!!

For my right hand, I decided to do the opposite to see if it'd look better... (it didn't)
 Yellow yellowoowowowow

 Splotch splotch

Ta da!

And that's the end to my tutorial on creating sunset gradient nails. And of course you can use any colour combination!

This combination isn't too shnazzy... I really don't like it. But the right one, vodka sunrise anyone?

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Check out more yellow posts from your other fellow beloved bloggers! Amanda and Trammie also schnazzed up their nails and Tez, with a review of Benefit's Lemon Aid Primer!

Colour Me In: Nude - A wearable nude! Revlon's Soft Nude

If there's one lipstick that has seen the most use in these past few months, it's Revlon's Colorburst in Soft Nude. Every other time I don't feel like wearing one of my favourite bold lippies, I swipe a layer of soft nude on my lips.

Whats up! Thursday again and another post from a drop of the colour spectrum, Nude!

Revlon's Soft Nude.... This buddy of mine and I go way back. My first lip product review? Was on this product. In a BOGOF deal at priceline for $22 (At that time I thought I got a bargain! Far from it.)

This was the first lippy I found that I had absolute no use for... Until lately.
 Their classic quilted patterned packaging

And their brand name embedded along the side

Most wearable nude I've met!

It can't be that awesome Alice! Oh don't be silly.
 Bare lips
With soft nude

My lips but better? Absolutely.

*normal daylight*

You can check out my old post for a review on this baby.

This 'Colour me in' series is a collaboration with your four beloved bloggers bringing you a shade from the colour spectrum each week! For this week's post, tez putting a lil twist to your typical french manicure, manda' rating a few of the most known eye primers and trammie crafting it up with a DIY nude nail polish.

Goodbye my loves.

OPI Mod About You - Swatch + Review

I don't think I've ever squished so many pictures of the same set of nails in my (blogging) life...
Hi! Last weekend I attended Spa & Beauty Expo with Trammie!
It was a great day filled with so many goodies around... Including a bottle of OPI I purchased after looking for a pink pastel shade. I was excited to make use of the polish since I had also purchased a base coat (finally)- (plump lil green bottle pictured: here)!

OPI's Mod About You

I felt like I stole Nicki Minajinz' tips

And of course the basic OPI brush

 Three layers!

I still don't have a top coat so I always use Australis' holographic polish for top coats.. Which explains the speckles

The shade matches my pink mouse!!!

I've always been hesistant with OPI's pastels since using their Gargantuan Green Grape... But this went surprisingly well! After my first coat, it looked absolutely streaky, but two more coats and it was perfect!

My nails lasted three days! Pretty good since I'm pretty violent with everything I get in contact with.

Where?
I'm pretty sure you'd already know of a place that stocks OPIs!
Price:
$10~15!

Colour Me In: Orange - Sportsgirl's Fruit Tingle

A few days to prepare for this post and I told myself that I'll just wear the lipstick and leave the house
I winded up waking up preeetty late for uni, still found the 30 seconds before running out the door to take two pictures of myself *phew*

These past few weeks have been absolutely cramming everything and kicking back some days... then cramming again when I realise how much work I have left to do!

Okay, enough about me...

In this series of Colour Me In, weekly Tram, Amanda, Tez and I will be posting about the shade orange from our beauty stash!

Last week there was, Amanda's gorgeous collection of pink lippies and a few ombre combos with them, Trammie's four affordable pink blushers and Tez' review on her pink Real Technique brushes!

So this week on our series of Color Me In posts, I present to you, the shade Orange!
Ohhh orange. I absolutely fell in love with the shade when I was gifted with a BarryM lipstick many months ago... But a shade I found myself wearing for weeks was Sportsgirl's Fruit Tingle! It's a more subtle version of BarryM!

Sigh Alice, another Sportsgirl lippy, again??? Depending on the formula, I think they're pretty dang amazing.

Taking pictures on the train - the usssg'
No picture of the lipstick cause..... well, that's a sob story for another day.

The shade: An orange and very subtle pinkish shade with a matte finish, way more wearable than you'd think!

Why I love it:
- My ideal shade of orange lippies!
- Super wearable

Ehhhh...
- Absolutely emphasises your dry lips!

My verdict:
It lasts I'd say about 4-5 hours. But after 3 hours, with dry lips like mine, you'll be able to see the peeled skin and evverrrything! It's terrible :(. Just be sure to condition your lips before you wear it the next day/morning...!

Pricing and Available at:
 $9.95 @ Sportsgirl

Last pic then I ran out the door for my train!

For more orangey lipstick goodness, check out Trammie's post! Tez posted about a set of nail art around the shade orange, and Amanda mixed the two with her lipstick and nail art post!

Au reviour!

Colour Me In: Pink - Sportsgirl's Beauty Bombshell

Hi!
Technology hates me and I temporarily don't have the two loves in my life right now (My camera and phone)
Whats up! Thursday has come around again which means another series of posts by your beloved bloggers,  TezzaTramAmanda and I!

Last week our colour was red! Kick back and check out our posts for last week where I blogged about dazzling up red nails, Tez and her cute lil ombre swatchicles and Amanda's and Trammie's collection of red lipsticks!

Okay so, each week we will be bringing you a new shade and a post with products from our collection featuring that shade! This week's colour is pink! Ohhhh, pink! My absolute favourite shade in lipsticks, whenever I walk past a lipstick stand, my eyes straight away search for that gorgeous baby pink.

A month ago, a girl pranced into work with a gorgeous pink on her lips, curious as to what lipstick she was wearing, and I think the start to a lot of my random conversations, 'What lipstick are you wearing?'

It was Sportsgirl's Beauty Queen. Oh I know Sportsgirl has an amazing bunch of lipsticks, I was gifted a few  of the bold ones from Amanda almost a year ago and have worn them every time I felt as though my outfit was a bit dull.

So I skipped my way up the escalators in Burwood Westfields and walked into Sportsgirl.

This sweet lil lippie for $9.95? Why not!

I love the packaging of their lippies! That little bulb at the base featuring a drop of their lipstick.

 *Wind it up
My hands were really cold so it was incredibly hard not to stop shaking, whoops

 One swatch

 Ahhhh you gorgeous thing!

 So natural looking, perfect balance!

Why I love it:
- Gorgeous shade
- Applies nicely

Ehhhh...
- Not so good if you have dry lips

My verdict:
It doesn't last too long which I think would be a problem to a lot of people. It is quite creamy so what do you expect! I usually have a problem with lipsticks where it accentuates my peeled and chapped lips, this was an in-between for me. Although, if Sportsgirl were to have another lipstick of this formula, I would not buy it.

Pricing and Available at:
 $9.95 @ Sportsgirl

Au reviour cuties!
Stay tuned for next our next Colour Me In Thursday!
